Topics covered: • Cyber Security concepts and fundamentals • Cyber Threats; Attack Vectors and Surfaces • Cyber Security by Design Approaches • Cyber threat categories – hacking, eavesdropping, spoofing, sniffing, denial-of-service (dos), trojans etc • IoT (Internet-of-Things) Cyber Security issues • Assessing levels of risk and vulnerability • Security-enhancing encryption schemes • Use identity management issues – authentication processes • Securing the O.S., applications and web services • Dealing with denial-of-service (dos) attacks • Disaster recovery and continuity planning • Penetration testing tools and techniques • Conducting Cyber Security Audits • Assuring web application security • Data Protection Engines • Managing Information Security; Data Governance Engines • Designing Security Awareness Training (SAT) Programs • Digital forensics • Investigative processes and tools Duration: The course features both offline and online, instructor-led, weekly synchronous online sessions (2 hours per session), over an 8-week period. Successful completion gives 3 credit hours towards the Associate-to-Professional Member (A2PM) bridging program.
